ITINERARY

Itinerary

Day 1: Drive from Addis to Awash national park through rift valley lakes and enjoy the tour around the park to see the wildlife and admire a stunning sunset from the lodge located by the Awash River falls.
Overnight: in Awash National Park (lodge or camping)

Day 2: Visit the Ilala Sala plain, the Awash River waterfalls and the acacia thickets to spot some species such as the Grey Horn-bill, the Somali Fiscal, the Helmeted Guinea Fowl or the Kori Bustard.
Overnight: in Awash National Park (lodge or camping)

Day 3: Drive to Lake Langano. En route, birding at Lake Ziway, truly a birder’s paradise and at Koka Dam A full day birding at Lake Langano and Abiyata – Shala National Parks.
Overnight: at lake resort hotel

Day 4: Drive to Wondo Genet and hike in the surrounding forest to spot some great birds like the endemic Yellow-fronted Parrot continue driving to Awassa and visit the lake shore to spot some aquatic birds
Overnight: at hotel
Day 5: Drive to Bale Mountains National Park via Shashemene. Up on arrival to park headquarter visit the different antelope and continue driving to Bale goba for overnight.
Overnight: at wabeshebele hotel.

Day 6: Drive for excursion around bale mountain national park and hike to the peak of Sanetti plaute looking for the endemic Ethiopian wolf Chasing the giant mule rat and spot different species of birds.

Day 7: Drive to Addis Ababa
In the morning drive to Addis via the great reft valley lakes en-root visiting the lakes and endemic birds around Langano and have lunch at Sabana lodge.
